SomaVerse brings ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) to Overland Park and Johnson County from our office in the Mark One Building on West 87th Street. It’s for adults who want ketamine with a real therapeutic relationship around it, rather than a stand-alone infusion.
Most ketamine providers in Johnson County are IV infusion clinics. They can help, and some people do well there. SomaVerse is built differently: we use gentle sublingual troches, a ketamine-trained therapist and a wellness guide are part of your care, and integration is woven in from the first week rather than offered as an afterthought.
Overland Park is also where many of our Kansas City clients, including Missouri residents, come for their medical visits and sessions. If you live on the Missouri side, see our Kansas City and Missouri pages.
Our Overland Park office
You’ll find us at 10100 W 87th St, Suite 204, in the Mark One Building in north Overland Park, close to where Overland Park meets Lenexa and Merriam. It’s a few minutes from both I-35 and I-435, which makes it easy to reach from most of Johnson County and from Kansas City, Missouri.
This office handles the full arc of care for Johnson County clients: medical evaluations and follow-ups, therapy with a ketamine-trained clinician, in-office ketamine troche sessions, and integration support. Everyone starts in office. Once you’ve completed at least our main program with us and are medically approved, you may be approved to continue sessions at home, with safeguards we’ll walk you through.
Who you’ll see in Overland Park
Brittny Jordan, LCPC, PAP, SomaVerse’s Clinical Director, sees clients here in Overland Park, in person and by telehealth in Kansas. She’s a Somatic Psychedelic Certified Therapist, which means the person preparing you and helping you integrate is trained specifically in this work.
Alongside her is Angel Patterson-Tetuan, PMHNP-BC, our Psychiatry & Ketamine Medical Director, who leads the medical side of SomaVerse: evaluations and medical follow-up. She sees clients in Overland Park, as well as in Lawrence and by telehealth, and she’s licensed in both Kansas and Missouri, which matters for clients who live across State Line.
Angel’s approach is to help people stabilize with compassionate psychiatric care and careful medication management, then support them toward deeper change through lifestyle and their own inner wisdom. For some clients, that means working toward needing less medication over time. Decisions about your ketamine prescription are made by our medical team after a full evaluation.
Why the therapist in the room matters
In an infusion chair, the altered state is often something to get through. In KAP, it’s the opening. Ketamine can soften fear and loosen rigid patterns of thought for a while, and a therapist who knows your history can help you use that window to approach memories, beliefs and feelings that usually stay locked.
Research reviews suggest that psychotherapy before, during and after ketamine may help start and extend its benefits, and one early study found that therapy after IV ketamine helped some people hold onto improvement longer. Larger trials are still underway. What we see in practice is simpler: people remember what they understood, and they start living it.
That’s why every SomaVerse program includes preparation and integration, with a guide or therapist present during dosing.
Who we see from Johnson County
Our Overland Park clients come from every corner of the county and every stage of life. A few patterns show up often.
- Parents in Olathe, Shawnee and Lenexa who have held it together for years and are running on empty
- Professionals in Leawood and Prairie Village who look fine on paper and feel numb inside
- Graduate students and adult learners at KU’s Edwards Campus, a short drive south in Overland Park
- People who tried an IV ketamine series, felt real relief, and watched it fade without the support to hold onto it
- Clinicians and helpers from Johnson County hospitals and agencies, some of whom later join our professional training
- People already getting ketamine elsewhere who want a place to integrate what came up
Groups and weekend retreats from Johnson County
Integration groups give you a circle of people who understand what a ketamine session can stir up. They run 60 minutes and cost $20 each, and several are included in our bundled programs. Learn about shared dosing sessions on our group ketamine therapy page.
Group journeys, booster groups and our weekend retreats meet in Lawrence, where our group space is, about 35 minutes west of the Overland Park office via I-435 and K-10. Into the SomaVerse, our weekend retreat at the Kentucky Street house, is $999 per participant for 6–10 people and includes your ketamine prescription, three days of group journeying, integration group work, expressive arts, meals, preparation and two post-integration sessions; the medical evaluation is billed separately. After a program, the SomaVerse Booster Group ($150) offers a group journey to revisit and deepen the work. Plan for someone else to drive.
Johnson County support if you need it now
SomaVerse is not an emergency service. If you’re in crisis, call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or call 911. Johnson County Mental Health Center offers crisis services and ongoing care for county residents.
If you already work with a psychiatrist, primary care doctor or therapist in Johnson County, we’re happy to coordinate with them, with your written permission. Ketamine therapy works best when everyone supporting you is on the same page.
