SomaVerse offers ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) to adults across the Kansas City metro from our Overland Park office, about 20 minutes from downtown Kansas City, Missouri. We combine sublingual ketamine with a ketamine-trained therapist, a wellness guide and medical oversight, then add groups and retreats.
To be clear from the start: we don’t have an office in Kansas City, Missouri. Our metro clients come to us at 10100 W 87th St in Overland Park, just off I-35 and I-435. Everyone starts in office; once you’ve completed at least our main program and are medically approved, you may be able to continue at home, where the rules where you live allow it.
Missouri residents are welcome. Because licensing rules differ across State Line, we’ve written a separate, plain-language guide to ketamine therapy for Missouri residents.
Kansas City clients often reach out when…
- You did an IV series at a metro clinic, felt lighter for a few weeks, and want something that lasts longer than the infusion.
- You found a KAP therapist you liked, but a single clinician couldn’t offer groups, a medical team or a retreat.
- You’ve been doing ketamine through a national telehealth app and feel alone with what’s coming up.
- You want the medicine and the meaning: therapy woven around your sessions, not scheduled somewhere else.
- You’re curious about psychedelic healing and want a legal, medically supervised place to start.
- Cost matters, and $400 or more per session isn’t realistic for you right now.
The Kansas City ketamine landscape, and where SomaVerse fits
Most ketamine care in the metro falls into two camps. IV infusion clinics, many of them in Johnson County, deliver ketamine through a vein in a medical setting, usually without psychotherapy built in. Solo KAP practitioners pair ketamine with therapy, often thoughtfully, but as one-person practices they typically rely on an outside prescriber and can’t offer much beyond individual sessions.
SomaVerse sits between them. We’re a trained ketamine team with a medical provider, certified psychedelic therapists and a mental health coach, offering individual and group ketamine services. In Overland Park, that includes our Clinical Director, Brittny Jordan, LCPC, PAP, and our Psychiatry & Ketamine Medical Director, Angel Patterson-Tetuan, PMHNP-BC. Troche doses start at $90. We run integration groups, group journeys, booster groups and three-day weekend retreats. And our integration support is open to people who receive ketamine somewhere else.
Neither IV nor troches are FDA-approved for mental health; both are off-label uses of an anesthetic, and troches are compounded. Esketamine (Spravato) is the FDA-approved option for treatment-resistant depression, and for some people it’s the better choice. See ketamine vs. Spravato for an honest comparison.
Sublingual ketamine in Kansas City: what to expect
A troche (“troh-key”) is a small compounded tablet that dissolves under your tongue or in your cheek. Because ketamine absorbs through the lining of the mouth, only a fraction of the dose reaches your bloodstream, roughly a quarter or so in pharmacology studies, compared with nearly all of an IV dose. Effects build gradually over 20–40 minutes and ease over an hour or two.
That slower, softer curve is why we use troches for psychotherapy. Many people stay present enough to notice, feel and even talk. Professional guidance also notes that oral and sublingual ketamine is less predictable than IV, which is why we start low, adjust slowly and check in medically after every dose. Read more on our ketamine troche therapy page.
Integration, even if you dosed somewhere else
Some of our Kansas City clients never take a dose with us. They’ve had infusions at a metro clinic, worked with a national telehealth company, or had a meaningful experience elsewhere, and they need help making sense of it. A ketamine session can bring up grief, memories or insights that don’t fit neatly back into a Tuesday.
Our ketamine integration therapy and integration groups are open to you either way. For experiences with other substances, we offer psychedelic integration from a harm-reduction stance. Psilocybin remains illegal in both Kansas and Missouri, and SomaVerse provides only legal, prescribed ketamine.
Groups and retreats for metro clients
Healing in community can feel very different from healing alone. Our group ketamine therapy and integration circles let you sit with others who understand. Integration groups run 60 minutes and cost $20.
Group journeys and retreats meet in Lawrence, where our group space is, about 40–45 minutes west of downtown Kansas City on I-70. For a deeper reset, Into the SomaVerse, our weekend retreat at a quiet house near downtown Lawrence, is $999 per participant for 6–10 people. It includes your ketamine prescription, three days of group journeying, integration group work, expressive arts, meals, preparation and two post-integration sessions; the medical evaluation is billed separately. If you’ve completed a SomaVerse program, the SomaVerse Booster Group ($150) is a group journey in Lawrence to revisit and deepen the work.
